Dhiren Savla is an Engineering graduate from the University of Mumbai with over 25 years of industry experience in various leadership roles. In his second stint with the company, Dhiren joined Swiss multinational Kuoni Group in March 2011 as Global CIO and member of the executive board for VFS global with the additional responsibility of CIO for emerging markets for Kuoni’s travel businesses. In his present role he is the Group CIO for Kuoni Group and also Global CIO for VFS operations in 128 countries across five continents serving 55 sovereign governments.
In his first stint with the Kuoni Group, Dhiren joined as Global CTO for VFS global in January 2004 with the mandate to strengthen IT delivery globally. In September 2005 he took up the role of CIO for Kuoni Group in South Asia including VFS global operations worldwide. Over the years he has been part of the core team that planned and executed the growth of VFS from an India-centric, two-client operation in 2004 to what VFS is today.
From 2010 to 2011, he served as the CIO at Standard & Poor’s (Crisil) for the South Asia region, wherein he was also responsible for its KPO business IT delivery, having operations in Europe and the Americas. In the past Dhiren has worked in a leadership role for some of the large corporations in this part of world including G.E. Shipping, Merrill Lynch, Sharekhan.com and IL&FS. He has been recognised as an industry thought leader and speaker at various Indian/international forums.
